User roles represent the rights a employee has when using Rentman. You can add a role and sign it to several users.
Adding a user role
To add a user role navigate to the Administrator panel (upper right) and open the module "User roles". Then select "Add new user role" which will open a new window where the role can be created. First of all you can give the role a name, for example: "Freelancer". Afterwards you can select which parts of your Rentman software can be viewed by the user role and which access he has in general.
Take into account that rights marked with a * only apply for administrators and therefore depend on the number of administrator licenses you own. You can only create as many administrators as you have bought.
Assigning a user role
After having created a user role it can be assigned to an employee. Open the tab "Crew" and select the employee you want to assign a role to. By clicking on "Edit" a new window will open where the employee's data can be adjusted.
Select the desired user role and save the changes.
Stephan is a freelancer who works as a Dj on a couple of events you are organizing. For Stephan the only important thing to see is the projects where he is gonna play and the possibility to print the packing list. First of all you create an account for Stephan and then assign him the adjusted rights. We create the user role '"Freelancer" and give it access to the pages "Projects" and "Calendar". Afterwards we assign Stephan this role. If he logs into his Rentman account now he is only able to see this information.
