With the help of the editor you can customize and change your templates. To use the editor open the administrator panel and select the "Templates" module.
Adding new templates
Click on "Add template" to create your new templates. A window opens in which you are able to to customize the templates.
Changing/Duplicating existing templates
You also have the possibility to change your existing templates.
To change an existing template select the desired document and click on "Change template". A new window opens which provides options for change.
If you want to duplicate a template select it and click on "Duplicate template". The template can then be edited in the window that opens.
If a template has been duplicated the name always needs to be adjusted. If this is not done the old template will be replaced by the new one. The name can be changed by opening the template and writing a different name in the top right corner under the tab "Template".
When editing a template its data is shown in the column on the right.
Name: Write the name you want the template to have.
Type: Select the type of template (e.g quotation, contract)
Hidden: Select if you want the template to be shown on the template overview.
Thin borders: Your template will be saved as a PDF file. This file type is usually opened by different program types or versions. The documents are therefore not always shown properly. In some cases the thin borders won't be visible anymore when the document if opened with a program. If in this case "No" is selected, some people might see thin borders and some might see thick ones. If "Yes" is selected some people might not be able to see borders at all and some might be only be able to see thin ones.
Here you can select a document from which the data will be used. Therefore you first of all have to create a document within a project. The data from this document will then be used in all modules and variables of the template editor.
A document is built up out of different types of modules. On the right side you have an overview of all the modules that can be used in creating the template.
The module "Text" is a module, in which you can enter your own text, variables, tables etc. The other modules will automatically be filled with the right information from the project that was selected previously. With the help of the modules you are able to build the document. You can quickly add modules by dragging them on the surface of the document. If you, for example, want to have the module 'equipment' on the template, all the data of the project that you have selected will automatically appear on the document.
Apart from modules, column segments can be added as well. They can be found on the right side of the template editor. Within these columns, modules can be placed as well. By adding columns, modules can be made smaller. The column segments can be added just like modules by dragging them on the document surface. You can choose between 2,3,4 and 6 columns.
The desired modules can be dragged in the columns. The modules will be automatically entered in the right format. The modules and column segments can be moved by clicking on the symbol.
By pulling the borders of the columns their size can be changed.
This module offers the possibility to enter and change different things. First of all the module needs to be dragged into the document. By clicking on the sign the module can now be edited. All options for the layout are shown in this bar:
Here the layout can be changed by editing headings, color and other details.
*When adding text the "Enter" key will start a new paragraph. If you only want to start a new line press "Shift + Enter".
If needed tables can be added as well. To add a table click on "Table", select "Insert Table" and choose the table dimensions you want.
Different variables can be added into the text module. These variables might be name and date of the project or the its total price. The variables will be taken from the selected document. The selected projected can be determined by checking "Example" and then "Document". In this example we are making use of variables to add some basic data to the table.
- Project name
- Rental period of the project
It is possible to edit the size and form of text modules. You are for example able to select how much space you want to have on top, below, left and right. In addition you can insert a frame ( rectangular or round edges). In the shown example we are creating a field where the customers can place his signature.
Cutting out and inserting modules
If you have changed a module according to your wishes it is possible to copy it to other templates. Open the template with the module you would like to copy . Then select the module by clicking on it and click on "options cut/paste".
A window will open with the specific module code in it. Press "Ctrl" and "A" on your keyboard to mark everything and then "Ctrl" and "C" to copy the whole code.
Now open the template you would like to add the copied module into and select "options cut/paste" again. Now press Ctrl" and "V" to paste the code and click on "Save". Now the module is also shown in the other template.
