The planning and availability of staff is very important in a rental company. This is why it is paramount to manage and plan your staff precisely. In Rentman this planning consists of two steps: first the needed functions are created in which, among other things, the amount of needed employees is established, the working hours, and the associated costs.
In a second step, after this basic division, the actual employees are distributed under these functions, by which Rentman now knows exactly which employee is available for other tasks or not.
We define a function as staffing. Examples of functions could be:
- Assembly: 9am – 11am
- Disassembly: 7pm – 9pm
Followed by creating the needed functions you can plan your personnel underneath these functions. These functions will be shown on your quotation according to which the price will be calculated [More about planning functions].
Hint: It is easy to involve your keyboard to make your planning go faster and more efficient:
- Use the tab key to progress to the following boxes.
- Hold down ‘Ctrl’ and change the date and time with the help of your arrow keys.
Plan your personnel underneath functions
After you created the needed functions it is now possible for you to plan your actual staff under these functions. All you need to do is: select a particular function and double-click on the chosen employee on the left side of the screen or simply mark the employee and click the ‘plan’ button [More about scheduling your personnel].
Availability of personnel
To be able to optimize your crew scheduling it is important for you to know when your employees are available or not:
- A green-marked employee is available;
- A red-marked employee is not available.
- With a non-marked (white) employee nothing is known about his or her availability.
With the help of a couple of clicks you can figure out if your employee is available or not [More about the availability of your personnel].
